**** My Review ****

Calculating, deceptive and so powerful….like a game of chess, where one move can lead to victory or failure. It all depends how patient you are, how perceptive, how good can you play…. Sometimes a simple pawn wields more power than it can be seen…more valuable than the king himself, the only one with the power to protect or destroy the king. Are you ready to make your move? To start this game that Sky has so masterfully created, a sinfully delicious story that will captivate you from its devious world, where all control is lost…

Well, most definitely this dark, erotic romance had me captivated even before I started reading the story. Reading the blurb was all it took for me to begin this journey into this incredible story that had me twisting and turning until the very last words. And the best thing about discovering this literary gem was that all the parts were published and available for me. Ending on such a cliffhanger and having to wait for the next instalment would have been simply unbearable.

A life like a fairy tale, the idyllic mansion, the perfect education, the best daddy who adores his little princess, even the handsome fiancé who fits perfectly into the bright plans for Avery’s future … What more could she want from life, when everything is perfect? But perfection bursts like a soap bubble in one insane moment, when everything falls apart, her whole world shattered to pieces lies beneath her feet. And there is no way out, no one to reach out and take her out of that hell. The weight is increasing, the problems are bigger and bigger, and no one to share her life, to accept part of the weight … she is left completely alone. All her hopes, all her dreams, even the most valuable thing that she has protected all her life … everything goes into the hands of the highest bidder.

The dark knight, who bought her nights and days, who enjoys her pain, who wants to break her … The man who destroyed her father, the one who scares and attracts her at the same time. Whose hand can cause terrible pain, but also unbearable pleasure … A person who should be hated, but is everything so obvious? Or some moves yet to be seen?

I had to say that I was captivated from the very beginning of this thrilling read that kept me on the edge of my seat till the very end. Dark, intense and perfectly seductive, with a lot twists and turns forced me to devour it in one sitting and left me panting for more. More of the incredible chemistry that was just tangible, more of that game between them, the push and pull. And definitely more of Gabriel, the anti-hero who simply manages to shock and delight me in the same sentence. That enigmatic, dark character who hides so much depth and secrets…. Irresistible arrogance and magnetic attraction that makes you hate and love him at the same time.

The main and the secondary characters were superbly portrayed and so charming. A young but strong heroine. Naïve and vulnerable, yet brave, that you cannot help but sympathize with her. Her determination to save her father and her family legacy was admirable. A scary and sexy Alpha hero, intelligent and cocky, a person that will spellbind you from the very beginning. His possessiveness is simply cute, and the glimpses of gentleness will make you swoon.

And the chemistry between them is simply scorching, the two together are a real fire. Unbearable attraction which does not allow reason to rule, but only that incredible attraction that controls their bodies, their moves, their dreams….

Definitely a fascinating and intriguing story that will draw you into its world. A desperate, brave heroine, a dark, anti-hero and a sizzling chemistry  A perfectly twisted read that will leave you panting for more!
