*** My Review ****

How to continue to live when there is nothing left, no force, no will…every part of your life is destroyed, torn apart by someone’s cruel hands and mind. All hope is already dead and when you look in the mirror- there is only a faint memory of what once was… and there is no hand that can save you… But the past returns and brings all those bittersweet memories, the tremendous guilt but also the hope- a faint light at the end of that horrible tunnel.

Cruel captivation is my first book from the author, and I really liked her style. I haven’t read the previous books in the series and some background information felt missing, but that hadn’t made the book any less enjoyable.

Heather and Asher- two broken should, tormented and destroyed, yet strong enough to fight their demons in order to reach happiness. Seeing each other after all those years, knowing they should stay away from each other, yet doing the opposite. Will they finally see the truth and have a chance at happily ever after?

With really interesting storyline, lots of emotions and angst, Cruel captivation really had me captivated from beginning. I usually love fast paced reads, but I have to admit that some parts felt rushed, and I believe deserved more elaborated description. Both the main characters were so real, so simple, yet complex at the same time. Asher- marked by the damage of the injustice, but still so positive and ready to sacrifice himself for the people he loves. Heather- totally broken after the cruelty she had suffered, yet strong enough to overcome everything and embrace the truth and her feelings. And they together – absolute deliciousness, with sizzling chemistry and attraction that cannot be ignored. The supporting charaters were absolutely perfect in the way the complemented the whole story.

If you would love to enjoy one fast, romantic read, with swoon-worthy hero and likeable, strong heroine, and a really emotional story, filled with perfect touch of angst and drama, then be sure not to miss this one dark romance.
