****My Review****

How many loves will we meet in life? What differences will we feel between them? People say that the first love is never forgotten. That emotional feeling leaves a mark that cannot be erased by distance or years. And with second love, we can dare to do everything that scared us the first time, right?

Such is the dilemma of our heroine Riley. Torn by her feelings, tangled in a web of truths and lies, and utterly confused. Which of the two is right for her?

Is it Grayson- her first love and the mystery that surrounds him? Or Colton – the second chance who breaks down all her barriers with his obsessive approach?
How to choose without making a mistake?

Since The Beginning Of Us is the first part, I am sure, everyone will be looking forward to the second part, which brings both comfort and new unrest. That’s exactly why I don’t want to read trilogies where not all parts have been released. It eats at me when I have to wait for the next part.

But on the other hand, it gives us a great chance to paint the story according to our whims. Let’s create assumptions and endings… When the last part arrives, we will be able to see how successful we were in trying to predict the writer’s intentions.

To be completely honest, love triangles are very rarely on my reading menu. Not that they particularly bother me. On the contrary, I find it interesting to read about all that confusion and emotional turmoil. But let’s face it, not by any author.

I discovered Lylah while reading Vow of Hate and I quite enjoyed that story. Several years later, I still remember her convincing and expressive writing style, with perfectly measured descriptions and very interesting dialogues.

That’s why I chose this book. Plus, I was interested in what younger people are reading these days.

The beginning promises a great trilogy. It was solidly written, with an interesting plot and a very detailed presentation of all three main characters. We get to know the characters, and discover their truths.

We learn secrets, see cause-and-effect reactions, feel their emotions and somehow manage to understand the characters. At least to some extent.

I also found it interesting to read a story from three perspectives. In the beginning, I thought it will be a bit chaotic, but the author managed to connect everything without any interruption in the flow of the story.

Lilah has managed to skillfully portray all their traumas and experiences as a normal part of life that many people face, not as something that should be hidden behind closed doors.

How the author deals with serious topics and situations is commendable. Readers can see from what was written that it is a well-researched topic, conveyed in a completely acceptable way and with a sufficient amount of awareness and understanding.

Additionally, this story also abounds with many emotions that force the reader to feel everything with each page read. Pain, hope, sadness, fear, love – everything is so finely intertwined and utterly heartfelt.

I read the shared reviews, team Colton or team Grayson… who do I like more?
I honestly haven’t decided which of the two loves I like better. Both of them have negative and positive sides. There is plenty of time until the finale of this trilogy to make up my mind, right?

Finally, all those who want to enjoy a good emotional story where decisions are hard to make and relationships are more confusing than normal, pick up this trilogy. The Beginning Of Us is an extra emotional story that will not leave you indifferent.
