****My Review ****

If you don’t mind being disturbed by a book and staying up late at night trying to find out the whole truth, then Far Gone is a great choice.

It is quite upsetting at moments. And even though there are traces of a backstory that is connected to the first book in the series, I had no problem reading it as a stand-alone, since I haven’t read the first one in the series.

Young Hannah, a witness to a gruesome murder, is the character who opens this story. An innocent soul exposed to such brutality that leave traumas and consequences that mark her entire life. Some traces simply cannot be erased by time. A young girl, her wrong life choices and her traumatic past mark her whole existence.

A new crime that somehow inevitably reminds everyone of the past. There are similar features that cannot be ignored. And a great incentive for Detective Kylie to return to familiar paths, right? A new investigation starts. What truths will be revealed? How does the past relate to the present? What is behind all the confusion?

To begin with, Far Gone is a book that is full of puzzles and doubts that encourage the reader to invest in the story and contemplate different theories and views regarding the events. Through an expressive writing style, the author creates incidents and characters that are simply multi-dimensional. It was nice that readers can see flaws and virtues, and layers that hide secrets we didn’t even suspect at first.

Furthermore, the action moves between the past and the present, skillfully seasoned with enough suspense and mystery to keep us in dark until the very end. Also, it must be noted that in the story itself, three separate stories can be differentiated, which are closely related but can be followed without any problem.

The book also contains a lot of twists and turns. Some of them were quite predictable, others could have been foreseen, but a good part was completely unexpected. Detailed descriptions and skillfully composed conversations somehow reach the reader and make them question how well they know the people around them.

To be completely honest, I devoured the last chapters as quickly as possible. I was incredibly impatient to find out the truth about who committed the murders and whether I guessed correctly. I changed my mind several times during the reading. There were several plausible scenarios and all of them matched almost perfectly. In the end, the author finishes the whole story very well and quite creatively in fact.

If you are looking for a thriller with amazing twists and a perfect writing style, take Far Gone. I believe you will not regret it . On the contrary, you will find yourself in a tense story that will leave you without sleep.
