****My Review****

If you are one of those readers who enjoyed the wonderful ‘Not My Romeo’, then you must have been looking forward to this second romance in the series. And now that it’s finally here, I believe it will have you glued to the pages of the first chapter.

An interesting mix of sweet and sexy moments, seasoned with enough humor and angst, Not My Match is a superb choice for every romance reader.

Not My Match by Ilsa Madden-Mills is a true fairy tale, with pages filled with hope and love. But what is love? Is it that feeling that suddenly overwhelms you and you lose all judgment? Love makes you let down your guard and makes you vulnerable, right? Love is when you believe and hope, only to be hurt and left in the end…..

No, love is not worth it. Besides, we don’t need it… But what can you do when just being near her reminds you of warmth and belonging? She simply reminds you of home. Her words have the power to heal and calm the storm that reigns from within. Moreover, her kisses burn your whole body, hot flames that engulf you and there is no peace until she is in your hands…

This is the story of Devon, a well-known football player. A man for whom luxury is a trademark. The most expensive cars, top-notch widgets, and the most beautiful girls he can’t run away from. Yes, that’s Devon – hot as the devil himself and twice as rich…

But an encounter or two, a strange girl who manages to awaken all his dormant senses and his beliefs are about to be put to the test. The beginning of something that they could not find an explanation or a name for. Seemingly uninterested in each other, they hurried towards each other with quick steps. Can she bring this hard-bitten playboy to his knees? What are the risks? What secrets prowl in the darkness?

Why did I like Not My Match ?

Ilsa Maden Milsen once again manages to create a story that manages to intrigue the reader from the very beginning. “Not My Match” is a story woven from precisely designed elements that leads us along the path to discovering love as the driver of all life processes.

Ambiguous thoughts, yet clear sentences make us turn the pages of this book at a dizzying speed, persistently trying to reach the end, eager to find out what will happen at the end.

However, I have to be completely honest and say the first part of Not My Match wasn’t my cup of tea. Reading this part I felt like walking the line between low interest and boredom. That’s why this author’s style reminds me of a calm before a storm.

Calm, warm waters. Nothing special. We pass the first part quietly, and then the author throws such a curve ball….. And suddenly we don’t know where is the beginning and where is the end…

Maybe it was because I was trying to get rid of the negative impressions that the heroine left on me. I somehow failed to empathize with her character, or fully understand her actions. It was too slow-paced for my liking.

The second part of this story is balm to my reading soul. Pages filled with passion and unspoken words that pamper the soul. To be honest, I was really interested in how Ilsa will manage to fix the image of the heroine, which I’m sure most of the readers couldn’t stand.

Furthermore, I wasn’t even sure I wanted to read a book in which the main character is Gisele with her not-so-respectable actions. Yes, extra smart and perceptive, with a sweeping imagination and extraordinary appearance, she does not quite fit into the framework of today’s heroines. Maybe that’s why he’s a perfect character. Because the author has invested a lot of talent to present to us everything that is the essence of this character. Inch by inch, we perceive her whole appearance, all her motives, and all her hopes.

Somehow between the pages, we discover that we are touched by her vulnerability. We can feel her insecurity. Become aware of every single trait of her being is composed of. And maybe that’s why she’s perfect to bring this sworn womanizer to his knees.

And Devon is simply a character that we love from the very beginning. Laid back and charming, seemingly untouchable yet so layered and emotional at the same time. And honestly, at first, I wished for a different heroine for him. But after reading all the pages I realize that they are a perfect match together.

Extraordinary chemistry and deep emotional attachment are an integral part of their love story. A mixture of sighs and touches set the pages on fire and consume us with their intensity.

The side characters were flawlessly portrayed and intertwined in the story, promising future great installments in this series.

Without a doubt, this book has a calm beginning and a stormy end. Not My Match is a fantastic romance that offers hours of reading pleasure and a couple whose story you won’t forget so easily.
