***My Review***

Ice Cold by Tess Gerritsen is perfect for readers who prefer some mystery on their reading menu. With inserted aspects from the daily lives of the vividly described characters, the Rizzoli and Isles series is more than a reliable option for a wonderful read. Every book is its tale. They can be read in order, as a series, or separately. But with this one, Gerritsen truly outdid herself.

The entire time I was reading Ice Cold by Tess Gerritsen, I couldn’t shake the sensation that the action was gradually building; it started bland and feeble and was building to a powerful conclusion. Naturally, it began a little slowly, but take a big breath because midway in the first quarter of the book, it picks up speed and becomes very spectacular.

The plot is set in the US state of Wyoming, where Boston medical specialist Dr. Maura Isles is traveling to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, for a pathologists’ conference. She finds herself at a turning point in her relationship with Daniel Brody just as she is preparing to leave.

She decides to join them on their snow trip since she is longing for change and some relief from the issues she is having with Brody. However, their snow excursion will be quickly cut short when they find they are lost. Amid all this turmoil, they unwittingly reach the “Kingdom of Heaven,” a small religious community where all the residents appear to have died on the earth but where their homes and possessions are still undamaged.

Their friend is hurt after their failed attempt to get home again, and they are left alone in the abandoned village with the persistent sense that they are being demined. What perils wait in the shadows? What happened at Kingdom Come? What will become of Maura and her friends?

I found Ice Cold by Tess Gerritsen to be a welcome change of pace from the Boston-focused books and loved its tension and creepiness. The writing is excellent, simple to read, and swiftly devours the pages without adding extra work or needless complexity.

I thought the author did a good job of capturing the organization and character of the Kingdom Come group and its leader, while there were a few aspects I felt we were left to infer.

There are many unexpected developments as well as intriguing personalities. The narrative serves as a reminder of how short life is. The majority of people have no idea when or where they will pass away.

Finally, I’d want to say that I enjoyed Ice Cold by Tess Gerritsen. It has intriguing details and a strange plot and compared to other novels, it’s a little bit of fun to read. Ice Cold by Tess Gerritsen should surely be on your to-read list if you enjoy Tess Gerritsen or wish to unwind while reading a good thriller.
