***My Review***
“Filthy Disciple” is a scorching hot read that will leave readers breathless and begging for more. Co-written by Cassandra Robbins and Serena Akeroyd, this book is a deliciously naughty romance that is sure to satisfy fans of the genre.
The time Isabelle, aka Cindy, has spent residing with the Disciples MC is going to expire. She needs a vacation once more since her life is in disarray. When that happens, a charming man named Cade enters her life at the perfect time. But who is this enigmatic Irish man?
Even though she may be a bit of a catastrophe and he may be a merciless criminal, they end up working together on a task that evolves into more for both of them. Can this damaged lady and Irish criminal get out of the peril they are about to step into?
I should note up front that this book is a part of two series whose earlier installments I have previously read. Yet I never got lost or thought I was “missing” anything important from the previous volumes in either series. You won’t have any trouble following the plot if you’re unfamiliar with either one or both realms.
Or if you are familiar with both worlds, you’ll be in heaven since you’ll be greeted by a cast of well-known characters who will undoubtedly annoy you a few times and remind you of why you originally fell in love with them.
What makes “Filthy Disciple” so compelling is the sizzling chemistry between Cindy and Cade. The authors have created a dynamic and multifaceted relationship that is as complex as it is passionate. A bit more passionate… The tension between them builds rapidly, with each encounter leaving the reader craving more.
Robbins and Akeroyd are also skilled at crafting richly detailed settings and characters that feel alive and authentic. The setting is vividly depicted, with its hierarchies, rivalries, and power dynamics. Cindy is a relatable and sympathetic protagonist, while Cade is a charismatic and enigmatic hero who is impossible to resist. Meeting his family added quite a depth to the whole story.
Despite the fact that “Filthy Disciple” is a riveting book, it’s crucial to remember that not everyone will enjoy it. Some readers might find the book’s graphic sexual material, power relationships, and insta-love themes unsettling. Also, some readers could perceive the story’s tempo to be incredibly quick at points, without the essential explanation of particular instances.
I didn’t enjoy the insta-love component either. That seems a little hurried and forced. I wish their desire and affection for one another had been developed more subtly. I adore it when authors give readers a rich and in-depth account of the growth of a new love. With all those pink butterflies, rainbows, and swoon-worthy declarations of love.
Also, Cindy should have gone further into her problems and gotten the support she needed to work on herself, in my opinion.
Overall, “Filthy Disciple” is a must-read for fans of steamy romance. The writing is top-notch, the characters are unforgettable, and the story is absolutely addictive. If you’re looking for a book that will set your heart racing and leave you breathless, then look no further than “Filthy Disciple.”
