****My Review****

Has it ever happened to you that your best friend isn’t there when you need her the most? No matter how hard you try, you cannot find a way out of an incredibly boring first date, where the main topic of conversation is his mother. Can you imagine that?

That’s exactly what happened to our heroine Reese. No matter how hard she tries to get her friend, she is unsuccessful. But an incredibly handsome stranger starts giving her relationship advice.
As if she needs that now?!

She needs a way out. As soon as possible! But luckily, that same stranger will decide to become a knight in shining armor and rescue our damsel in distress.

He approaches their table and surprises her when he starts talking about their past (which never happened). Thus turning her evening from boring to memorable. In any case, she won’t be seeing any of the people at that table again, so she decides to enjoy the moment.

But surprise, surprise!!! When two weeks later, Reese gets a job in a successful company, she encounters the same sexy-as-sin stranger again. Who is her new boss, can you guess? Of all the people in New York, Chase was the one to be her boss. The sexy stranger…

Vi Keeland is slowly but surely entering the club of my favorite authors. Her style is very attractive, the characters are very fun and wacky, and the stories are unique.

Chase Parker is a perfect book boyfriend. His humor makes the book great. Forehead kisses are the second-best thing there is. (After Chase himself, of course.) But after getting to know him a little, we are impressed by his complexity and layering. A seemingly cool and laid-back guy, but with a huge burden hiding behind the facade.
His actions towards Reese show what a great man he is. I have been obsessed with him since the first page and will remember him for a long time.

On the other hand, Reese is quirky and clumsy. I laughed out loud at her misadventures which grew with each subsequent page. Although she is always smiling and there to help everyone, she also has a burden from her past that prevents her from getting close to anyone.

Without any doubt, the attraction between her and the boss is obvious from the restaurant scene, but I liked that she thought rationally about their relationship and no matter how she developed feelings for Chase, she didn’t let him play with her.

Bossman by Vi Keeland is a story about loss and burdening ourselves with the question “What if?”. Overcoming the pain and living in the present moment is hard to do and sometimes you need a nudge from someone to come to your senses.

Another reason why I like the book is the whole portrayal of the meaning of real love and what it means to love someone. Love mixed with guilt or any other emotion just pushes it into the background.
And the moment we realize that it is a unique emotion that we cannot destroy, then we are free from all influences, be they internal or external.

Bossman by Vi Keeland is a fun, humorous, and emotional book that can be read in one sitting. It is a light story that can leave a lasting impression. Perfect for a relaxed afternoon read…
