Returning to the old place, two same people, known to each other, yet unfamiliar now. Same in some ways, but changed under the harshness of their lives. He with only one, single goal. The desire for revenge is what moves him, but where will it take him in the end? Broken beyond repair, changed by the loss and pain, can he find it in himself to offer her some light in all that darkness?
And she, Charlie, brave and determined, and unbearably attracted to him, as in the old days. But is that enough to carry all that burden with him?
Cassandra one more time proves to be a gifted author. Using her unique way to explore topics that aren’t easy to read, which will shock and delight the reader at the same time. Remorse, pain, and loss are so skillfully intertwined with lust, desire, and love.
The author leads the readers on a profound and detailed trip, and creates so fully developed characters, giving the readers full insight and opportunity to know and understand the reasons for every action.
And although the beginning of this story did not excite me, the further development is quite solid. Fine development of the characters, emotional maturation, and connection of the two characters are well shown. It must be admitted that parts of this story move a little on the border of reality.
The style is quite simple, easy to follow, and without many complex structures that would burden the reader.
The explosive chemistry and devoted love simply melt the words from the pages. So many details, so many layers of emotions, and amazing characters, both main and secondary, make this book a perfect choice for every reader.
An excellent choice for fans of MC romances, Atone by Cassandra Robbins is an angsty and delicious story that will have you glued to the pages from the very beginning.
