The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

All that glitters is not gold. Most of the time it is rotten from the inside. Neither empire, wealth, nor high position ca always bring happiness. However, someone enjoys such a life, and someone despises it and works at any cost to expose embezzlement.

For a successful journalist and co-owner of the most famous Swedish newspaper “Millennium”, such exposure to competitors will drag him into a state of financial and career collapse, but will also bring him a one-year unforgettable adventure.

At the same time, on the other side of Sweden, the real drama of the rich, famous, seemingly related, but very intriguing and full of envy and secrets Wagner family is unfolding. The work that the journalist Mikael Blomkvist will have to uncover will change his life completely, and to make it all the spicier, his mind will be clouded by a dragon tattoo and the discovery of two big truths in a small village.

Larson remarkably connects two fascinating minds. It will make you fall in love with Mikael and Lisbeth in every possible way and analyze every detail of their work while admiring their patience and ability and appalling at the cruelty of social norms. One truly unforgettable bone-chilling psychological thriller.

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

Honestly, I wasn’t really sure whether I wanted to read this book. It was often compared to Gone Girl, a book that blew me away. And I didn’t want to disappoint. You know high expectations and such stuff.
But on the contrary, I liked this book, which is quite different from GG. Maybe some elements of suspense are similar, but the two books are essentially different. Each is great in its way.

Rachel is commuting with the same train every day, watching the same things. She becomes fascinated by a woman who lives along her route. Every day he gets a new insight into the happenings, until one day she witnesses to something truly shocking.

Three narrators, three different perspectives, and one amazing story that will leave you without sleep. You will persistently turn the pages in the desire to find out what is true and what is not. A bone-chilling psychological thriller that you should not miss.

Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter

Three sisters, mysterious disappearance. A family is broken by the pain and many unanswered questions. A shocking case without any epilogue. 24 years later, the pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together.
But finding answers requires digging deep into the past, with the fear that all festering wounds may come to light.
How well do you know the people around you? Would you like to find out the truth at any cost or go down the path of blissful ignorance?

This book is extremely disturbing because it exposes the beastly nature and the masks that people wear.
With strong, sharp language and morbid graphic depictions, the books portrays delusions and lies, inner demons, but above all else, the indestructible sisterly love.
And the parental one, which dominates all emotions in the human spectrum.

Never Let You Go by Chevy Stevens

There is a reason this book was nominated for a 2017 Goodreads Choice Award.
Quite a common topic that I honestly kind of avoid. I am not comfortable reading books about domestic violence. It kind of hurts me when a home instead of a refuge and protection becomes hell for the members. But still, this book drew me into its story from the very beginning.

Lindsey Nash somehow manages to get out of an abusive marriage. The years spent with the controlling sociopath Andrew take their toll. Violent outbursts, threats, harassment…. part of the past now.
She and her daughter Sophie start a new life. But 11 years later, their paths with their ex-husband intersected again.
Will the ‘changed’ man leave them alone, or are new hurtful strikes hiding behind good intentions? What will happen when they meet again?

If you too are interested in thrillers that will drive you through the story at breakneck speed, mind games, and puzzles that will astound you, then pick up this book…
